Pick Me Up ! exhibition in London

Last weekend saw this year's exciting installment of graphic arts festival 'Pick Me Up' 2013 at Somerset house in London. The exhibition was an eleven day celebration of contemporary graphic art, design and illustration. Visitors had the chance to see the freshest and emerging talents from the industry's elite and there was even a chance to participate in various family workshops that took place everyday.

I had first attended the exhibition two years ago and was very impressed and since then I was excited to see what this year had to offer. It was interesting to see a collection of contemporary artists come together from different countries and showcase a mix of eclectic styles such as Katie Scott's surreal animal prints and You Byun's imaginative and cheerful dreamscapes. Print Club, a screen printing studio from East London, were also present at the event offering an enjoyable and creative workshop to create your own prints to take home. Myself and Su-Ming definitely had a productive day out and got our hands dirty by getting involved in some of the T-shirt making workshops, which was a lot of fun.

Girls Night Out With Miss Cupcakes

Over the Easter bank holiday, team LoveMeSome was out celebrating a successful three years with MissCupcakes, a.k.a our very own Tia. We partied the night away with friends and family over at Funky Buddha in Mayfair.

I remember sampling Tia's delicious cakes years ago. Whenever the girls would have a get together, it was a sure thing that Tia would be bringing the desserts! Dinner party after dinner party, without fail, dessert always went down a treat after a hefty meal. Then came the BBQs, cupcakes galore. Everyone knows not to turn up to a BBQ empty handed and luckily for us, Tia was always prepared with her scrumptious cupcakes.

Over the years we've seen how much MissCupcakes has grown as a business and as a friend. Not only does she make yummy cupcakes, she also has many other styles of cakes under her belt. Cake pops, tiered cakes, edible bouquets and cakes in different shapes such as; Jordan's, Louis Vuitton handbags, DJ mixer and many more as requested. Her skills are incredible and still amazes me every time!

We can only wish Tia the best of luck for the future and even more success than she already has. Keep those cakes coming!!

Top 5 Live Performances of 2013

With the Brits and Grammys just gone, there have been quite a handful of rather good live performances. Ok, not good... surprising and outstanding is more like it!

For me, I like artists that really know how to bring it when it comes to live performances. I expect nothing less than great vocals and entertaining staging. It's all about the excitement you get when there are surprises in the performances.
